Description
Mike Lehman was born in Kitchener, Ontario, Canada in 1952, the youngest of eight children. He sang in a band while in high school and eventually formed a group called Yukon. This first band toured in Ontario, Quebec and New York State and opened for Chuck Berry and the Four Tops among others. Mike parted company with Yukon in June of ’75 and got a recording contract with producer Greg Hambleton. Sessions at Toronto Sound and Springfield gave him “I’m on Fire“, his first release, and extensive air-play and chart action throughout Canada.
Follow-up singles included “You Know How Much I Love You” and “Magic Of A Feeling“. Mike recorded and toured extensively with a showband backed with two female vocalists-dancers, Susan Hunt and Lea Crichton, and a great four piece band “Fullflight” with Wayne Detrich on bass, Pat Furlong on drums, John Dunn at keyboards and Kevin Peperall on guitar.
